Urasmo (left) and Freddy (right) having fun posing for the camera in Cochamarka, Q'eros. They spent hours trying to teach me how to spin the top pictured beside Freddy's head. In the Andes, they call these trompos. It is a top that you spin by winding string around the body of the top and then launching it forcefully at the ground to spin it on its point. The string is attached to a small stick that you wedge between you fingers so you can throw it correctly. Such a simple toy but so challenging and creates so many beautiful laughs and memories.
