Pachamanca

Children in Q'eros watching over as two sheep are being prepared to be sacrificed for the community feast, or Pachamanca. A whole ceremony is dedicated to the sheep and Mother Earth (Pachamama) for providing sustenance to the families that eat meat maybe once or twice a month. It is amazing to see their appreciation for the animals and how connected they are with their food sources and and the environment. Everything is in harmony and balance. We should really approach things like this with our children from an early age and expose them to similar connections.
