Painted Planet

The 750 acre geological wonder in Calhan, Colorado. The Paint Mines show evidence of human life dating back 9,000 years. The various colorful clays were used by indigenous people. The spires and hoodoos were formed from erosion and created unique gullies that expose clay, jasper and seienite.
