Tru Vu Drive In
Nostalgia is such a powerful force of an emotion. How we perceive and experience the world is rooted in our memories and sense of what we all have personally deemed, “the good ole days.”
Over the past couple of years, my photography vision has been drawn into the powerful allure of nostalgia. Focusing on simple scenes that take us back telling a simple story and reminding of us earlier times. It’s funny how we always plan our futures and diligently work on being present …but ultimately we cling on to fragments of our past to shape our lives.
On our road trip last week, I took off for a little sunset cruise to take photos and explore Delta, Colorado and it’s surrounding areas. On my return, I was instantly pulled to this scene. A drive in theater. There was that nostalgia dangling a carrot. These feelings drive my vision and passion whether it be a landscape, a street scene, a portrait…I focus on whatever speaks to me because that’s the cathartic nature of this art form of chasing light and freezing moments in time into memories that last forever…creating future nostalgia.
