Yellow Fortune
On a week long camping trip, we decided to get a hotel room for one night to shower up and just catch up on some rest, I decided I wasn't ready to rest. We ordered some Chinese take-out in Delta, Colorado. Living it up! In my fortune cookie, it said to focus on the color yellow. Interesting...
I kind of laughed it off and told my girlfriend that I was off to take a sunset cruise around to do some solo exploration and intentional photo time. Driving out to a spot I had in mind high above the desert hills, I noticed this soothingly bright scene on a random country road. I quickly pulled a U-turn and parked the car. I might have decided to hop a no trespassing sign...because I had to...to get to this scene. It was a vacant lot and abandoned house that looks like it hasn't been visited in a long anyways.
What unfolded was pure magic. I still don't know if this was dust or fog..it was over 100 degrees, so I don't think it was fog, but I was somehow into the mystic. I captured quite a few photos as this fleeting light played out. It was one of those serendipitous moments....and my fortune cookie's advice of seeking yellow...well it came to me. I guess it was my fortune after all.
