I have passed this little pond frequently on Lookout Mountain. I always thought, one day, I will get get some good shots here. It is a pretty unassuming pond generally, but after studying it daily and passing by it, I saw how the afternoon light could create some magic if conditions presented themselves. Well yesterday at sunset they did just that, and I spent an hour here capturing photos as a storm cell simultaneously developed. My mom said, "I never thought that shitty little pond could look so beautiful." That's the power of photography. Study up, pay attention and when that time comes, you will be rewarded with true magic.
