Colorado - Ryan Kost

Early Riser

Headed out around 3:00 a.m. and trudged up a steep climb on Squaw Pass. Super windy but loved every minute of it. Landscape photography is so special when I have to earn it. I took a shot in the dark...pun intended...and drove an hour and hiked an hour hoping the sunrise would be worth it. It did't disappoint. The brief window of less than 5 minutes, when the light is extraordinary just makes my heart so full. This shot is facing north looking over Indian Peaks and Rocky Mountain National Park in the very far back (you can see a tiny bit of Meeker and Long's).
